Empty Gallery is pleased to present our first solo show with Shanghai based artist Ann Zhao. Both intimate meditation and trenchant diagnosis, Zhao’s exhibition attempts to grapple with what might be called the use and abuse of art for life.
The exhibition will be on view through August 29, 2026.
Ann Zhao (b. 2002) lives and works in Shanghai. Past exhibitions include Mondrian, Hamburg, DE (2024); Theta, New York (2024); Derosia, New York (2023); Daisy Sanchez’s Window, New York (2022); Estrella, New York (2022) and Maxwell Graham / Essex Street, New York (2022), which was also curated by the artist. Zhao graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2025.
